Build the right path for your Child's future success

Is your gifted child investing a lot of hours on just school Math and English? Are they building a habit of learning through repetition?

This may seem like progress now, but fails when true problem-solving is required (in High School and definitely in College).

Many programs just move children through school curriculum.

Thinking Feet is different. We ignite curiosity, foster advanced thinking, and build skills that truly set your child apart.

College Admissions Guide

Understanding Top College Admissions

Navigating the path to a top college can be confusing. Let's debunk common myths and focus on what truly matters.

Four Common Myths Busted

Myth 1: Waiting for High School

Myth: "We can wait until our child reaches High School."

Reality: Building an authentic profile takes time. The interests and passions that stand out are developed long before 9th grade.

Myth 2: The "Guaranteed" Activities

Myth: "Sports and Music are the most important extracurriculars."

Reality: These are only impactful with exceptional talent and deep commitment. They are not a "magic bullet" for admissions.

Myth 3: Grades are Everything

Myth: "Solid grades will get my child admitted to a top college."

Reality: Excellent grades are the minimum requirement to be considered, not the guarantee for admission. Thousands of applicants have perfect GPAs.

Myth 4: Quantity over Quality

Myth: "A lot of extracurriculars creates a strong resume."

Reality: Admissions officers value depth over breadth. A long list of shallow involvements can be a red flag.

What Top Colleges Are NOT Looking For

  • The "Perfect Stats" Student: Applicants with great grades but little genuine intellectual curiosity.
  • The "Jack of All Trades, Master of None": Applicants who have done a lot but haven't excelled or made an impact in any area.
  • The "Disconnected Profile": Applicants whose activities are random and don't tell a cohesive story about their passions.

Your Action Plan: Building a Standout Profile

  • Go Beyond the Classroom

Acknowledge that academics are just the starting point, not the entire application.

  • Pursue Excellence, Not Volume

Encourage commitment to one or two areas where your child can truly excel and lead.

  • Craft a Unique & Authentic Path

Help build a cohesive narrative that reflects genuine passions. A unique story is a memorable one.
