Content

Mechanics + Electricity & Magnetism

Uses Calculus. Basic understanding of differential and integral calculus is a pre-requisite.

Heavier focus on problem solving than studying theory. Theory and formula handouts will be provided but a greater focus will be on problem solving.

Who will benefit

Students who will be taking AP Physics - C in a future year. This is an enrichment unit, not a tutoring unit, hence we do not open this to students needing help with AP Physics in their current school year.
While this course uses Calculus and most AP Physics courses offered by High Schools follow AP Physics - 1 and 2 (without Calculus), the content and approach in AP Physics-C will be more advanced than the regular AP Physics course and hence will prepare students with a solid foundation even for non Calculus based Physics.
AP Physics - C adds tremendous value to College Applications targeting top STEM colleges, and in addition most colleges will accept a score of 4 or above for College Credit. Not many students take AP Physics - C, being amongst the few who do - demonstrates your ability to handle the most challenging Physics curriculum available.

About the Instructor

The course will be taught by Mr. Dutt, who founded Thinking Feet. Mr. Dutt has had a long passion for Math (especially Calculus), and Physics. His passions led him to an Electrical Engineering undergrad from one of the top colleges in India, getting into which required students to demonstrate a very advanced command on Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Mr. Dutt has had a long career in Electronic Circuit Design for Microprocessors, Software Engineering, Risk Management, Data Science, prior to starting Thinking Feet. His teaching style is collaborative where the students are constantly engaged in discussions, brainstorming, and problem solving.
