Digital SAT Math - Extended Learning Program
How is SAT Math different from High School Math
SAT Math Requires a Different Approach
The approach to acing SAT requires a solid command not only on all Math concepts but a mastery of faster problem solving strategies. Majority of our students scored a 770 - 800 in SAT Math following a diligent approach with the right concepts and strategies.
Example of a 'tricky' SAT Math problem
In the given expression 38x20 + ax10 + 50, a is a positive integer.
If px10 + q is a factor of the expression, where p and q are positive integers, what is the greatest possible value of a?
Students will never encounter this type of problem in school math where they are largely learning to fit a formula to similar looking problems. SAT Math is attempting to differentiate between students who have understood core concepts than those who have scored well just by doing a lot of questions of the same type.
SAT also springs new problem types (not new subjects) in tests. So they may present a problem in Area that looks quite different than any problem students might have seen before. They would still use the same core concepts students are expected to know but the application of those concepts would be different.
The Learning Journey
Scope
- Students will be exposed to unique problems that will make them think and solidify understanding of core concepts.
- They will learn to think differently and handle question types even those they have not encountered before.
