Prepare your high schooler for success in school, career, and life with our transformative Public Speaking and Leadership Camp. This intensive program equips students with essential communication skills, empowering them to think critically, adapt quickly, and command attention in any setting.

Through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and role-playing activities, students will develop proficiency in:

Weekly Structure

Week 1

July 21 - 25 (VIRTUAL)
Current Events - Round Table Discussion
Students will be assigned a current event to read, analyze and present their viewpoints. They will learn how to defend their point, at times agree to change them, challenge other view points, and to complement others’ points with their own value added thoughts. They will learn the art of speaking.
Students will:
  • Understanding current events from an analytical lens.
  • Presenting viewpoints and convincing their peers.
  • Active speaking along with active listening.
Written Communication - Presentations
Students will learn the art of storytelling using presentations developed on multiple topics of politics, economics, science, engineering, etc.
Students will:
  • Engage the audience with creative ways of presenting information.
  • Balance pictures, graphs vs words to craft a compelling message.
  • Deliver presentations in an engaging fashion vs reading the slides verbatim.
Leadership Styles
Students will explore different leadership styles and their impact on teams. They will review case studies of effective leaders and discuss different leadership scenarios.
Students will:
  • Explore leadership theories.
  • Identify personal leadership styles.
  • Adapt styles to different contexts.
Business Case Studies - Round Table Discussion
A business case is a window into a real business problem scenario where students will be expected to combine their creative ideas in various aspects of a business (Organizational behavior, Marketing, Strategy, Finance, Economics, etc) to develop a solution. Developing a solution will require students to convince their peers of their thoughts and ideas, engage in negotiations, challenge ideas they do not agree with, and develop crystal clear communication. Exactly what they will be expected to demonstrate in a real business job scenario. Get ready for a high energy discussion solving real business problems!!
Students will:
  • Get exposure to different aspects of business - marketing, finance, human resources, IT, sales, etc from a critical lens.
  • Learn how to combine a written thesis with data charts to analyze problems and explore solutions.
  • In a discussion they will have to present and defend their arguments, complement and challenge other viewpoints, and ultimately work as a team to develop a business solution.

Week 2

July 28 - Aug 1 (IN-PERSON)

Written Communication - Emails
Students will learn the art of writing impactful, respectful, attention grabbing, and persuasive emails.
Students will:
  • Get exposure to writing emails to a variety of audiences.
  • They will adopt the importance of subject line, introduction, body, and conclusion of the essay and how to leverage each of those in different circumstances.
Online Presence / Personal Brand
Students will learn how to establish and maintain a professional and impactful online presence. They will develop a personal branding plan including a mission statement, tagline, and core values.
Students will:
  • Build a personal brand on social media.
  • Learn the importance of professional profiles.
  • Manage Online Reputation.
