Future Designer Medley
As a Future Designer, our young students will experience an age-appropriate mix of all camp activities to learn design skills and techniques. They will explore their creativity by building 3D Designs to print, paint Digital Art, create Comics, and even make animations on Scratch.
Get ready for a week of creative exploration where your child will unleash their inner designer through engaging and enjoyable activities. Here's a glimpse into our curriculum:
Creative 3D Design & Printing
Students will dive into the world of 3D art by learning how to imagine, design, and bring their creations to life. Starting with basic concepts, they'll create unique 3D designs using materials like playdough, translating their hands-on designs into digital masterpieces. Campers will also use an online platform to make 3D designs
Hands-On Design and Digital Transformation
Campers will explore the exciting combination of designing with their hands using materials like playdough. They'll learn to turn their tactile creations into beautiful digital artworks, expanding their creative skills. From crafting with physical materials to digital transformation, this unique program encourages creativity and introduces campers to the skills needed to be a versatile designer.
Comic Creation
Ever wondered how stories come to life in comics? In this program, students will use their creativity to learn storytelling and design skills, writing, planning, drafting, and publishing their own comics. It's a space where their hands-on visions truly come to life!
Create Your Own Mini Movies on Scratch
Campers will become the directors of their own mini movies using MIT's Scratch platform. From developing characters to crafting storylines, they'll bring their imaginative ideas to life through animation. This program encourages creativity and storytelling, providing a space for campers to explore their unique narratives by combining Computer Programming, Storytelling and Filmmaking.
3D Design & Printing
Starting with the basics, students will learn skills of conceptualizing, designing, implementing creative works of 3D Art. They will then upload their creations for printing. The final product will be given by the end of the week for students to take home!
Technical Concepts:- Design basic and complex shapes
- Combine and glue shapes together
- Efficient printing by distributing pieces vs building all at once
- Creating hollow shapes, slicing shapes and more!
Web Site Design & Development
June 24 - 28 | Morning along with 3D Design & Printing
Students learn HTML and Rapid Development tools to build a fully functioning and live website with multi page navigation, embedded pictures, videos, links to internal and external pages etc. They will learn all the basic skills needed to be able to build any kind of website in the future with many practical uses (like organizing their study links, managing calendars and events to share with parents etc).
Technical Concepts: HTML- Text Formatting
- Background Colors
- Image integration
- Table creation and modification
- Linking to internal and external pages
- Design balance between images and text and Thirds rule
- Animated text
- Visitor counter
- Embedded sites, images, videos
