High School Programs · Grades 9–12

High school classes built to put students ahead of the curve.

Thinking Feet offers high school math from Math 1 through AP Calculus, SAT readiness and SAT prep, high school public speaking, advanced coding, college essay writing, and AP Physics C. Small live classes, taught online, open to high school students anywhere.

High School Math: Math 1 through AP Calculus

We teach the full North Carolina high school math sequence in small weekly classes, so students can master a course before they take it in school, earn Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM), or accelerate toward AP Calculus. Placement is by a free assessment, not by grade.

+

Our high school math curriculum is different.

It is more challenging than school math. Students learn the core concepts in depth and practice problems that make them think, not just repeat a formula. That same depth prepares them for the SAT, which rewards real understanding over memorized steps.

Math 1, Math 2 & Math 3

Grades 9–12Weekly + homeworkGroup or private
Syllabus: Math 1 · Math 2 · Math 3

Follows the NC high school curriculum. Ideal for students preparing ahead, testing out through CDM, or wanting a stronger foundation than school provides.

SAT Readiness & SAT Prep: two stages, one goal

Most families need two different things at two different times: a strong content foundation first, then a focused, test-specific push before the real exam. We offer both.

Stage 1 · Grades 9–11

SAT Readiness

Longer programs that build the math and reading/writing skills the Digital SAT actually tests — well before test season.

Digital SAT Math — Extended Learning

  • 16–20 week program, virtual, 2 hours a week
  • Algebra, arithmetic, geometry, advanced math, statistics and trig
  • Teaches the strategies SAT uses to separate strong students from drilled ones

SAT Reading, Writing & College Essay (ELA)

  • Year-long weekly class for grades 9 and up
  • Evidence-based reading, grammar and vocabulary, plus college essay writing

Stage 2 · Test season

SAT Prep with Ace2College

Our intensive Digital SAT prep program, run by Thinking Feet under the Ace2College name. Built to reach a 1500+ in the least prep time possible.

  • Entry by free diagnostic test
  • Small groups of 6 or fewer, or private coaching
  • English + Math, or either section alone
  • 8 full-length practice tests in addition to the College Board Bluebook tests
  • Unlimited Q&A with coaches between classes
  • 90%+ of students have scored 1500+

High School Public Speaking

Students speak every session. They build eye contact, vocal projection, body language and clear articulation, plus the confidence to use them in class, in interviews and in leadership roles.

High School Public Speaking

Grades 9–12Max 10 studentsWeekly

Improv games, planned speeches and individual feedback, with a showcase speech at the end of each unit. The year is built around three units:

  • Hot Topic Discussions. Weekly research and respectful debate on current events, practicing multiple perspectives.
  • Presentation Skills. Structuring an engaging talk, building effective slides and holding a room of any size.
  • College Interview Preparation. Mock interviews, researching colleges and crafting strong answers, with personalized feedback.

Leadership & Communication

Grades 9–12Full school yearLive onlineCameras on

Our newest program teaches students to read an argument, decide whether it holds up, and defend their own view in front of people who disagree. Every student speaks every week. Each quarter adds a new challenge and ends with a piece of writing the student stands behind in public:

  • Q1 · Visionary. Propose an original idea and present it to a group.
  • Q2 · Diplomat. Write an opinion piece and defend an assigned position in debate.
  • Q3 · Strategist. Build a plan from incomplete information and defend it in a mock press conference.
  • Q4 · Founder. Create a full multi-part campaign for a project of their own and present it publicly.

Every week: an Executive Briefing on a real article (main points, evidence, blind spots), a Boardroom Seminar where every claim must point back to the text, and the Hot Seat, where students answer a question they didn't see coming. By year's end, students have 30+ written briefings and a body of work they can draw on for college applications, scholarship interviews and internships.

What is the difference between SAT readiness and SAT prep?

SAT readiness classes, like our 16–20 week Digital SAT Math program and our SAT English class, build the underlying skills over a longer period. SAT prep through Ace2College is a focused, diagnostic-led program in small groups of 6 or fewer, timed to a specific SAT date, with 8 full-length practice tests.

Can my student start at any point in the math sequence?

Yes. Placement is based on a free assessment, not grade, so high school students can join at Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, Pre-Calculus or AP Calculus. Many also use our classes to prepare for Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) and move ahead faster.

Do you teach coding for high school students?

Yes. High schoolers with prior coding experience join our Tech Leadership track, covering Java, algorithms and data structures, USACO competitive programming, full stack web development, data science and AI/machine learning, and real-world portfolio projects.

Do you offer private tutoring for high school students?

Yes. Private classes are one-on-one and can be used either to help advancing students move ahead, or for support and intervention with what students are currently studying in school. Subjects include high school math, competition math, coding, English and public speaking.
