Program Structure
Data Science is one of the hottest jobs family of this century and has application in every industry. R is one of the most popular data analysis and visualization tools used by college students and industry professionals.
This program is designed with a comfortable pace for middle and high school students to learn the R platform and Microsoft Excel in data analysis applications.
Starting with understanding the tabular data storage structure, students will navigate through simple simple Database SQL to summarize data and use the powerful visualizations of the R platform to generate insights.
Part of the year long data science course. This course will be followed by Data Analysis in Python, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Python.
This unique program will introduce students to the concepts of database and coding in the R platform to generate insights from data, while maintaining an appropriate pace of instruction that will be manageable by students in middle and high school.
About our instructor: Tuhin Dutt
Tuhin (Mr. Dutt for students), founded Thinking Feet and has had a long and deep career in Data Science in various domains across financial services. He was also the winner of the inaugural Big Data Hackathon in Charlotte. He has developed this unique program to give an early exposure to students in the exciting field of data science.
One of the main objectives that students will achieve in this course is to not only learn the R platform but also learn to ask the relevant business questions and then code in R to answer those questions using data. The class will feature tons of brainstorming, research, collaboration and learning through iterations of success and failures.
